ABOUT LANA
Lana Schwartz is an 18-year-old performer, director and producer, who starred in the Off-Broadway musical ENDANGERED!, co-starred opposite Lakeith Stanfield in the short film TRACKS, played the title role in the concert presentations of the new musical RUTKA at Lincoln Center, and played her dream role of Fanny Brice in FUNNY GIRL at French Woods. Other favorite roles include Dot in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, Charity in SWEET CHARITY, Christine in BE MORE CHILL, Katherine in NEWSIES, and Tina Denmark in RUTHLESS.
Lana has been developing her craft in workshops and classes in both New York and Los Angeles, and just graduated from high school at the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in New York City. She will be starting as a Freshman at Harvard University in Fall of 2023. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors' Equity.
In 2019, Lana launched the non-profit organization Nxt Generation Theatrics, a theater company run entirely by teens. The organization was formed in order to create more opportunities to empower teens and to help the next generation gain experience and exposure to the arts by jumping in and managing every aspect of creating a theatrical experience. Their first production, NEXT TO NORMAL, was in rehearsals when COVID hit and had to be rescheduled, but finally opened and ran Off-Broadway with sold-out performances in June of 2022, with Lana directing and producing, and with a team of 43 teens at the helm. In the interim, Lana and NGT also produced two online concerts, featuring performances by more than 30 rising teenage talents and raising money for four non-profit organizations. She just completed directing and producing NGT's Off-Broadway production of VIOLET, running in June, 2023.
